1. Is acupuncture safe?
Yes. Only sterilized and disposable needles will be used. Used needles are discarded after each use. The area will then be cleaned with alcohol, with no possibility of infection or cross infection.
2. Is it painful?
Since acupuncture needles are so thin (approximately 1/50th of the thickness of an injection needle), most needling is not painful. The practioner will guide you to cough or take deep breath when needle is inserted to distract you. The expectation of pain often make you fear and often exaggerate it. Most patients overcome their fear after few treatments.
3. Is there anything I need to prepare?
Please wear loose clothing or bring a shorts to change. Try to avoid to visit the office in too hungry state or too full ; If you feel too hungry , have a little snack. A piece of cracker will do./ 30 minutes after full meal will be OK.
4. What do I do while undergoing treatment?
Try to relax and do not move. Once the needles in, you will feel relaxed and comfortable. Avoid using cellphones; the radiation from hand phone can be very harmful if you use the phone while the needles on your body.
